Problem
I have just began to study Photoshop. Now I have created a picture and now I want to add a sea shell into the picture, but I don’t know how to create sea shell in Photoshop. Any help is appreciated.
Solution
In Photoshop CS4, create a new file as bellow.
Create a new layer, and then create a long rectangular by Rectangular Marquee Tool and fill the selection by the color as bellow. By the same way create the other rectangular as bellow until the entire canvas are Filled.
Press ctrl+T to minify the layer1 and then select Spherize of Distort from Filter men. Set the Spherize parameters as bellow.
Create a selection by Elliptical Marquee Tool and then pressctrl+shift+I to reverse the selection. Press delete key to delete the superfluous selection. Copy the Layer and hide the copy layer.
Select Layer 1, press ctrl+T to minify the layer and select Skew of Transform from Edit menu. Adjust the shape as bellow.
Select layer1 and select Liquify from Filter menu. Then on the Liquify dialog, select Bloat Tool and set the parameters as bellow. Click on the bottom of the sea shell five times to get the bloat effect.
Create a new layer upon the background layer and draw the outline of the sea shell by Pen Tool. Change the color of the shape as bellow.
Double click the layer 1 and theLayer Style dialog is displayed. Select Drop Shadow and set the parameters depend on your like as bellow.
Merge thelayer1 and the layer 3.
Create a new layer and fill the layer with white. Double click the layer 3 and the Layer Style dialog is displayed. Select Gradient Overlay and set the parameters as bellow.
Create a new layer and merge the layer and layer 3 to convert the layer to general layer. Fill the inside white circle by the color F2E670 and then select Color Range from Select menu. In the Color Range dialog, set the parameter as bellow and delete the white color of the layer 4.
Press ctrl+T to change the layer 4 to elliptical and then select Spherize of Distort from Filter menu. Press ctrl+T again to adjust the shape as bellow.
Press ctrl key and click layer 1 at the same time to load the selection. Then press ctrl+shift+I to reverse the selection and delete the superfluous selection of layer 4.
Select layer 4 and choose Texturizer of Texture from Filter menu. Set the Texturizer as bellow and set layer 4 to Multiply.
Mergelayer 4 and layer1, then use the Pen Tool to make the outline of the sea shell and convert it to selection. Then press ctrl+shift+I and delete key to delete the superfluous parts of the sea shell.
Unhide layer2 and press ctrl+T to adjust the shape as bellow.
By the same way, to create the other part of the sea shell as bellow. Then merge all the sea shell layer and add blur to the edge of the sea shell.
Add highlight and shadow by using Burn Tool and Dodge Tool depends on your like.
