How to Convert AVI to AMR with Freeware

Problem

AMR (Adaptive Multi-Rate) file is an audio data compression scheme for speech coding. Your mobile telephone may support AVR format and record sound in the AMR format. This is a guide to convert AVI to AMR files.

Solution

AVI is a multimedia container format. To convert AVI to AMR, the first step is to convert AVI to WAV or MP3, then convert WAV/MP3 to AMR format.

Download and install Pazera Free Audio Extractor from Pazera-Software (Official Site) or BrotherSoft. Pazera Free Audio Extractor could extract audio tracks from AVI video files.
Run "AudioExtractor.exe" to launch Pazera Free Audio Extractor and click "Add files" link to add your AVI videos.
To get better quality, choose "WAV - Waveform" from the "Output format" drop-down menu in the "Audio Settings" section. Then click "CONVERT" link to convert AVI to WAV format. It will extract aduio tracks from AVI videos.

The higher MR, the higher sound quality and size. Then click "Convert Now" to convert WAV to AMR.
