Problem
Here is a new feature called Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 system, that means you can use a virtual XP system in Windows 7 directly, but you have to make sure your CPU support Windows XP Mode before you turn it on.
Solution
- You should know that only Windows 7 Professional、Enterprise and Ultimate editions sport the Windows XP Mode, then follow the steps to check.
- First, check if your CPU with support for hardware virtualization.
For Intel processors, go to download Intel Processor Identification Utility
Install and run it, switch to CPU technologies Tab,
If the value of Intel(R) Virtualization Technology is no, then your CPU does not support hardware virtualization

- For AMD processors, go to download AMD Virtualization Compatibility Check Utility
Install and run it, you will see the report, read the information.

- If your Processor support the Virtualization Compatibility, then you need to make sure hardware virtualization in your PC BIOS has been turned on.
- After you confirmed your PC can run Windows XP Mode, you can download and install it securely.
