How to Adjust Audio Volume in Camtasia

Problem

If you have add background music to your videos or recordings, you have to edit the audio, for example, to adjust the audio volume.

Solution

You can choose Camtasia Studio 5 to adjust the audio volume of your videos and recordings.

Start Camtasia Studio 5 and drag the videos or recordings you want to edit to the Timeline.

Basic ways to adjust audio volume:

  • Adjust Audio Volume in CamtasiaVolume Up : Increase the volume of the audio tracks on the Timeline by 25%.
  • Adjust Audio Volume in CamtasiaVolume Down : Decreases the volume of the audio tracks on the Timeline by 25%.

Even Out Volume Levels.

It adjusts the volume of the audio on the Timeline to a standard level. Use the Even out volume levels when the recording level between audio clips varies greatly.

  1. Click Audio Enhancements in the Task List pane.

  2. The Audio Enhancements page appears. Check the Even out volume levels option.

  3. Select an option from the Settings dropdown menu.
  4. Click Play in the Preview Window to listen to the new audio. While the video is playing, check and uncheck the Even out volume levels option and try all three settingd to hear a comparison of the audio quality before and after applying the option until get the best effect.
  5. Click OK.


Tips

File types supported by Camtasia 5:

Video files: .avi, .camrec, .mpg, .mpeg, .wmv.

Audio files: .wav, .mp3, .wma.
