Problem
Windows 7 Firewall settings is usually done when you running a program which requires a network connection, but you can edit these settings anytime, you can add a program to the list of allowed programs so that it can communicate through the Firewall, or you can remove a item which you don't want it send information to the network from the exception list.
Solution
- Click on Start menu, open Control panel
- Switch to Large icons view, drag the scroll bar till the end, press Windows Firewall.
- Click on Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall.
- You can now allow or prevent a program or a feature to communicate through Windows Firewall, check or uncheck the items you want to control.
- To add an exception, click on Allow another program..
If the program is not in the list, add it from Browse...
- Locate the target program, select it then press Open. The program will be add in the list. then press Add.
- Check the box in front of the program name to allow this exception.
To remove the exception, highlight the item, then press the Remove button.
- After press Yes, the exception will be removed.
